Halling’s Youth Gets Skating!

Halling Youth Club had their Rubicon Skate Day on Saturday 20th April 2013.  It was funded by StreetCops Trust and Halling Association.
The Youth Club used the funding for the skate ramp and grind bar equipment and the Rubicon skate training day. Beaney’s Bakery of Snodland generously supplied cakes.

What a fabulous day it was.  Not only did the sun shine, but we even got the police to join in with the skating.  They interacted with the kids brilliantly and everyone just laughed and had fun.  The Streetcops Trust is all about funding for community projects and bringing together youths and police and we certainly achieved that in Halling on Saturday.  The Youth Club (Les Hitchcock & Paula Wilkins-Smith – Joint leaders) are so looking forward to using their new equipment, the ramps and grind bar which the Streetcops funded, during the summer months.

Rubicon supplied us with James and loads of skate boards and safety equipment and he spent the day teaching the kids (and the police!) how to skate and do tricks.  Halling Association also helped fund this event and they and Beaneys Bakery in Snodland provided our guests with refreshments.

If you want anymore details about StreetCops Trust the contact is:  Sgt Rob Jackson  07963 800847 who was instrumental in making this day possible.  They hold an annual Police Ball to raise funds for these kinds of projects.

Who’d have thought we’d get Inspector Ada Leppard, our PCSO Alan Hunter and the other police officers skating down the hill of our Community Centre car park!  Enjoy the group photograph here...
