HALARA’s Annual June Cream Tea turned into a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party with members making and donning fancy hats.  A large cut-out figure of the Mad Hatter adorned the stage together with teapot bunting. Various images from Alice in Wonderland & balloons decorated the windows. The fun afternoon continued with excellent entertainment from keyboard musician and singer, Martin Piper.
As well as demolishing piles of scones, jam & cream members were able to take part in a raffle, visit the Bring & Buy stall and view the wonderful array of Art and Craft work produced by members.

The KENTARA Vice-Chairperson, Joan Rhodes and her husband, Les, attend the meeting and sang along with other members during the musical session.  Joan also judged the Best Hat Competition.
Irene Maplesden won the ladies prize for her inspired round box of knitting wool complete with needles.  David Wooding won the men’s prize for his floral sprouting hat.  Ann Graves was the runner up with her rabbit in the cabbage patch hat.
